What Local Really Means

Now that “Local business” has become such a buzz word, we wanted to take a minute and re-define what local means to us as a team and company.

At some point, you have probably seen a statistic or statement stating the economic benefits of small businesses to local communities.

According to the Small Business Administration (SBA), small local businesses employ more than half of the working class in the United States and are a valuable asset to the local community.

Sourcing our ingredients from local suppliers and working with local partners has been part of our value statement from day one.

We are proud of being part of the vibrant Spearfish community. Community involvement is just one benefit.

Besides community health, providing local jobs, environmental benefits, and creating unique and innovative products and services is one of the values local business comes with.

Our new Kombucha flavor “Forager Blend” is the product of the joint effort and passion of three local South Dakota small businesses, which means over two-thirds of ingredients in this blend are SD grown! Yep, really. We are pretty stoked, too :)

This unique flavor blend is made from our Black and Green Tea Base, Aronia Berries we source from Good Roots Farm in Brookings SD, Organic Cranberries, Fresh Sage from our Spearfish local friends at Column Greens, and Lions Mane Mushroom, a powerful adaptogenic supporting cognitive health.

This power blend is high in vitamins, antioxidants, minerals to give your body the boost it needs.

Enjoy!
